Goodbye summer, goodbye VBS, hello new friends!
As you may have discovered by the lack of recent blog posts, it’s been a busy summer for me and a busy summer at church. For the past two summers, our church has decided to run a full day Summer VBS Program. It’s part day camp, part traditional VBS, and all fun.
This summer, we were blessed to have a great group of kids join us from age 3 all the way up to age 12 and it was wonderful to see some new and familiar faces back again this year.
I will keep this post short and sweet, but I wanted to share some highlights with you.
– We had 25 students join us over the course of the summer. This is comparable to last year, but I’m not at all disappointed!
– I had some good conversations with a few parents here and there and it was nice to connect and re-connect with those who we don’t get to see all of the time.
– We were blessed to have had a great program and some wonderful volunteers. I’m grateful for the chats that we were able to squeeze in amidst preparing snacks and crafts.
– God is good and I can’t wait to see what He has in store for us over the school year!
And though VBS has just “finished” up for the summer, I’m already gearing up for next year. Thank you to each of you for lending your hands in service to this work. I really couldn’t pull it off alone and am so grateful for the time you have spent sacrificially to put on this program. If I could ask them, I know that our attendees would agree. Here’s to a great summer past, and Lord willing, and even better one to come!
P.S. I haven’t forgotten about the “In the Spotlight” Series I promised you. I’ve been having some technological issues with editing the video footage that I’ve already shot. I can’t promise when, but they will be online. If you’re interested, keep your eyes peeled!
